PRODUCTION-LINE POLARIZATION VERIFICATION TEST
A.General - Except as may be noted in the individual descriptive sections under PRODUCTION LINE TESTS, the manufacturer shall subject 100 percent of production of all products that have a polarized attachment plug, to a routine electrical continuity Production-Line Polarization Verification Test in accordance with the following.
B.Test Equipment - If visual inspection is not permissible (as indicated in the individual descriptive sections under PRODUCTION-LINE TESTS, Polarization Verification), any suitable continuity indicating device (such as an ohmmeter, a battery and buzzer combination, or the like) may be used to verify compliance with the Polarization Verification Test requirements.
C.Method - Electrical Continuity shall be verified between the indicated supply-circuit conductor of the attachment plug (wide blade of a two-wire plug) and the part of the product specified in the individual descriptive sections under PRODUCTION LINE TESTS, Polarization Verification.
D.Basis for Acceptability - Electrical continuity shall be verified between the indicated supply-circuit conductor of the attachment plug and the part specified.
