Job Description
Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Xiamen Keypad
Reports To: Senior Manufacturing Engineer/Manufacturing Manager
Summary
This job will support manufacturing processes to meet both short term and long manufacturing goals. The ideal candidate would be required to have more than 2 years experience in manufacturing and process control, to hands-on implementation and improvement of automation processes and equipment for Keypad products in Xiamen Facility. Provide necessary input and support for enhancement of processes on existing operations as well as automation equipment for current and future products. Monitor the yield, cycle time, down time whilst achieving product quality. Liaising effectively with manufacturing support to ensure improvements are implemented in a timely manner and agreed goals are achieved.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
· To assist manufacturing accomplishes daily production duties. Maximize yield, reduce cycle time, minimize down time and product changeovers.
· Involve in the new product/process design review as required. Oversee the manufacture and test of prototypes for customer evaluation of new products systems to support customer specifications, operations and technical marketing requirements.
· Provide input into product simplification and standardization and eliminate unprofitable process steps from the production line.
· Assist with build, debug, training and installation of new equipment to support defined production goals and requirements.
· Support Lean-Manufacturing methodology in the daily work in it’s own area and lead/participate Kaizan project teams, to reduce waste, improve lead-time to best in class.
· Establish initial procedures and instructions, and keep them up to date timely.
· Follow ISO 9000 program and procedures as they apply to your position.
· Works with Quality Control to establish accept/reject criteria for new and existing products.
· Work closely with team members to establish and maintain schedule and system performance requirements and plans.
· Monitoring the working status of process equipment and tooling, perform basic Preventative Maintenance work and work closely with facility engineering for other machine maintenance.
· Other duties may be assigned as required.
Qualifications & Skills
· BS (preferably in Mechanical or Process Engineering) and more than 2 years related manufacturing/process engineering Experience in creating high volume manufacturing processes and participation in equipment design to ensure process compliance.
· Experienced in using of process control tools such as FMEA, Control Chart, Cpk Analysis.
· The understanding of electrical and mechanical control for automated manufacturing equipment, linear and rotational mechanisms, and pneumatics and industry compliant safety devices is desired.
· Understanding of tooling, jigs and fixtures design.
· Ability to define problems collects data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several abstract and concrete variables.
· Fluent in both oral and written English. Good communication and reporting skills.
· Fluent in MS office and CAD.
