Really a good question,I am a SQE,and I do the ppap audit and the process audit ,but i don't pay attention to the difference about them.

PPAP: Production Part Approval Process, production capability should be verified by some new products before mass production, it includes many documents, for example, key dimension inspection report, function and cosmetic inspection report, material inspection report, tooling and fixture readiness check list, etc. All those documents and first article should be sent to customer for approval, it is mainly for new products.
Process audit: it is a general audit method, each working station in QC engineering chart will be audited according to check list, it is mainly for mass production.
